Bulgarian black metal outfit Bolg has unleashed their highly anticipated new album, Where Death Dwells , released on January 12, 2025 . Available in both Digipack and cassette formats , the cassette edition comes in a limited wooden box set featuring three additional cassettes.

Recorded in the eerie depths of Basement Crematorium Studio in 2024 and mixed and mastered at Opus Magnum Studio in Brussels by the enigmatic Déhà , Where Death Dwells marks a sinister and menacing chapter in the band’s evolution. Drenched in atmospheric tension, each track conjures haunting visions of desolate landscapes and primal terror .

Crafted entirely by Bolg in their dark abyss , the music is blisteringly fast-paced, featuring piercing vocals interwoven with slow, ominous, and epic riffs —evoking the sensation of a battle’s aftermath . Complemented by sinister artwork, the album’s dark allure is further amplified.

The title Where Death Dwells is inspired by an imposing Black Sea legend . The depths of the Black Sea are so dense that no light can penetrate beyond a certain depth, leaving it devoid of life. According to legend, this abyss is where Death itself resides—cloaked in eternal darkness .

Formed in 2003 in a small Bulgarian town, Bolg takes its name from an Old Bulgarian word meaning "wolf" —a symbol of the untamed, primal spirit that fuels their music. Since their debut split, Against the Christian Terror (2004), which introduced them as a ferocious force in the black metal scene, Bolg has consistently pushed boundaries. Known for blending fast-paced aggression with slow, atmospheric passages , their sound embodies both ferocity and grandeur , channeling the raw essence of the primeval world .
