German/Swedish death metal juggernaut ROTPIT is back with a vengeance, delivering their highly anticipated second full-length album, Long Live The Rot . This follow-up to their 2023 debut Let There Be Rot takes things to an even filthier and more punishing level, offering ten tracks of relentless, old-school rotten death metal. Fans of the genre are in for a brutal experience that drips with decay and devastation.

A Lineup of Death Metal Heavyweights

ROTPIT is a trio of seasoned veterans from the extreme metal underground:

Jonny Pettersson (Massacre, Wombbath, Heads for the Dead, Berzerker Legion) – Guitar/Bass/Production
Ralf Hauber (Revel in Flesh, Heads for the Dead, Fetid Zombie, Just Before Dawn) – Vocals/Lyrics/Concept
Erik Barthold (Left Hand Solution, Det Kristet Utseende) – Drums

The addition of drummer Erik Barthold has injected new life into the band, pushing ROTPIT beyond its origins as a studio project and into the realm of live performances. His dynamic drumming elevates the band’s already gruesome and raw sound, making Long Live The Rot their most ambitious and punishing release to date.

Rotten to the Core

Produced by Jonny Pettersson at Studio Unbound and mastered at Nevo Studios in Sundsvall, Sweden, Long Live The Rot continues ROTPIT’s tradition of delivering crushing riffs, putrid grooves, and some of the most vile vocals in the genre. The album’s visceral energy is reinforced by the grotesque and captivating hand-drawn cover artwork from Finnish underground artist T. Kannibalet Hietomma Art .

Fans of Autopsy, Nihilist, Grave, Undergang, and early Paradise Lost will find themselves consumed by the festering brutality that ROTPIT unleashes. This is death metal in its purest, most decayed form.
