Heavy metal history will be made this summer as Ozzy Osbourne and BLACK SABBATH reunite for one final performance at a massive charity concert in Birmingham on July 5th .
The legendary band will headline a special one-day festival at Villa Park , sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in metal—many of whom they directly influenced—including METALLICA, PANTERA, SLAYER, GOJIRA, and ANTHRAX .
This event marks a truly historic moment, as BLACK SABBATH’s original lineup—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—will perform together for the first time in two decades .
Tom Morello ( RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE ), who is also serving as the festival’s musical director , called it “the greatest heavy metal show ever.”
Proceeds from the concert will go toward Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice , a hospice supported by Aston Villa .
“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning , time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Osbourne said in a statement. “How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love.
“Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham forever. ”
Adding even more firepower to the night, the festival will feature an all-star supergroup including Billy Corgan, Slash, Fred Durst, Wolfgang Van Halen, and Tom Morello .
This once-in-a-lifetime event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of heavy metal’s legacy and future .
