Odense's progressive metal force Mezmerizer is back with a blistering new video for their latest single, "Wreckages of Creation," set to premiere on January 10, 2025. The song offers a bold and uncompromising exploration of societal hypocrisy, focusing particularly on Denmark’s double standards in the face of corruption and conflict.

Following his tenure as the frontman of thrash legends Artillery, Michael Bastholm Dahl brings his seasoned vocal power to Mezmerizer, backed by the genre-blending riffs of guitarist Flemming Goldberg-Larsen. The track's unique main riff draws inspiration from Israeli klezmer music, reflecting Goldberg-Larsen's views on the complex dynamics surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and broader global double standards.

Goldberg-Larsen elaborates on the track's meaning: "In Denmark, many view things as black and white, especially regarding conflicts like Israel-Palestine. For me, it's black and black. I have Jewish relatives, Muslim friends, and all of them are victims of Western hypocrisy. That’s the core message we wanted to express through the music."

The powerful video that accompanies the song presents a man sitting alone in his living room, engrossed in a constant barrage of media depicting violence and corruption. While the footage unfolds, the man remains unaware of the critical facts flashing in the subtitles—revealing Denmark’s dark secrets, including its involvement in money laundering and illegal arms trading.

Goldberg-Larsen states, “While filming the video, Denmark’s Minister of Defence was embroiled in the very scandals we highlight. Now, our Minister of Finance is implicated as well. It’s the perfect moment to confront Denmark’s hypocrisy."
