OFF THE REALM Unveils New Single "Voodoo Doll" – A Haunting Heavy Metal Experience Now Available

OFF THE REALM, the one-man metal project by Pennsylvania-based musician Tim Black, is thrilled to announce the official release of the highly anticipated single, "Voodoo Doll". This dark and atmospheric track, blending elements of heavy metal, gothic, and avant-garde, is now available on all major streaming platforms.

"Voodoo Doll" was inspired by a mysterious local legend encountered by Tim Black during a trip to the Caribbean island of Curaçao. The tale tells of a cursed voodoo doll that, no matter how hard one tries, cannot be discarded—it always returns, no matter if it’s burned, buried, or locked away. The haunting narrative is captured perfectly in the song’s brooding riffs, layered atmospheres, and heavy bass-driven sound.

Tim Black, the creative force behind OFF THE REALM, performs all stringed instruments on the track, utilizing only 4-string and 8-string bass guitars for rhythm, lead, and acoustic parts, giving the project a truly unique sound. Fans of Mastodon, Rob Zombie, and Type-O-Negative will feel right at home in the sonic landscapes of this release.

Adding an extra layer of eerie atmosphere, British author Andrew Reeves contributes a chilling spoken-word intro as a guest appearance. Reeves also co-produced the track and wrote a short story inspired by the song, titled The Voodoo Doll: The Priestess and the Pleasure , which is available as an e-book. The song and the story were released together as a creative collaboration, each enhancing the other’s dark, immersive world.
