Make Them Suffer Announce Self-Titled Album, Out November 8th Via SharpTone Records

Perth metalcore stalwarts Make Them Suffer are back with a monumental announcement—their self-titled fifth studio album is set for release on November 8th through SharpTone Records worldwide, and Greyscale Records in Australia. This marks a significant chapter in the band’s journey, reflecting years of endurance, innovation, and unwavering sonic identity.

To accompany the album announcement, Make Them Suffer have also released a new single titled "Oscillator," complete with a music video. This track is a scintillating blend of bounce, hulking electronics, and razor-sharp melodics, underpinned by the band’s signature thought-provoking lyrical content. “Oscillator” goes beyond the surface of screen addiction, delving into its profound impact on mental health. "As we become more reliant on this constant source of stimulation, our baseline joy and excitement for life in general becomes lowered. We believe we are currently facing a mental health crisis, largely attributable to screen addiction," the band shares.

Spanning 11 tracks, Make Them Suffer finds the band in complete control of their sound, blending melodic light with blistering shade. The album also fearlessly steps into new creative territories, expanding on the group’s foundational symphonic, progressive, and blackened textures.

In the face of lineup changes, a global pandemic, and external expectations, Make Them Suffer have crafted an album that is both a testament to their past and a bold statement of their present. "The decision to self-title our latest record was a significant one," the band explains. "It stands as an authentic representation of our sound. Through years of growth, we believe these songs are the best representation of 'Make Them Suffer' as a name and, more importantly, as our vision for the band."

The new era for Make Them Suffer began in 2022 with the release of the single "Doomswitch," marking the addition of Alex Reade as backing vocalist and keyboardist, cementing the lineup with Sean Harmanis (vocals), Nick McLernon (guitar), Jaya Jeffery (bass), and Jordan Mather (drums). Following up with singles "Epitaph" and "Ghost Of Me," the band crafted their upcoming album amidst a demanding international touring schedule as live music resumed post-pandemic.

Self-produced and engineered, mixed, and mastered by longtime collaborator Jeff Dunne (Disturbed, Ice Nine Kills, Fit For A King), Make Them Suffer is a dynamic return to heavier terrain with bold new elements. With four previous studio albums, including 2020’s How to Survive A Funeral , which debuted at #17 on the Australian Charts, Make Them Suffer have amassed millions of streams, sold out headline tours, and shared stages with heavyweights like Parkway Drive, While She Sleeps, ERRA, and Stray From The Path.

2024 has already seen Make Them Suffer continue their world domination with an almost entirely sold-out Australian tour supporting Bring Me The Horizon with Sleep Token, and performances at major European and UK festivals like Download Festival, Copenhell, and Jera On Air. Their highly anticipated Suffer Forever Australian headline tour kicks off later this month, with shows already sold out in Brisbane, Newcastle, and Melbourne. The band will be joined by special guests Bury Tomorrow, Spite, and Bloom for this unforgettable run before heading to New Zealand and closing out the year supporting Bury Tomorrow in the UK and Europe.
