Idol Throne Announces Highly Anticipated Second Album "A Clarion Call" via Stormspell Records

Indiana based Thrash/Power/Prog Metallers Idol Throne released their second album, entitled “A Clarion Call,” through Stormspell Records. The album was released on May 31st, 2024, and the first single titled “The Last Voyage” is out now on all streaming services. 

Formed in 2018 and releasing their first full-length album, The Sibylline Age in 2022, Idol Throne has fused Bay Area Thrash, U. S. Power, and Progressive Metal. “A Clarion Call” expands on this foundation with eight tracks of various styles ranging from heavy thrash to neoclassical pieces and epic orchestral pieces. 

“For me, ‘A Clarion Call’ is Idol Throne continuing the sound that was introduced on ‘The Sibylline Age’ and building on it to display the progression of this band in the last few years,” added co-lead guitarist and keyboardist Martin Bowman. “It is not a norm for every band to record a second album and not only were we able to do that, but we were able to make something that I feel really stands for something. I couldn’t be more proud of that. 

Co-lead guitarist Jason Schultz said: ‘2024 will be 6 years that we have been making music together, and on ‘A Clarion Call’ we tried to be ourselves and let the inspiration go wild. The album is the culmination of our work and a reflection of the places we have been and the places we are going with this band. I can’t wait to show you the final work, it is quite a ride’. 

“A Clarion Call” was recorded in 2023 and was produced by Martin Bowman and Jason Schultz, and was mixed and mastered by Pete Grossmann at the Bricktop Recording in Chicago; artwork by Mark Erskine/Erskine Designs.
