There is literally no point sitting on your laurels after releasing your debut album, if you’ve got the momentum, go for it. This statement applies to Oblivion Throne who after releasing their debut album last year are back with a brand-new EP ‘Voidgazer’.

‘Voidgazer’ is the sound of a band pushing themselves. This EP isn’t some odds and sods leftovers from that previous ‘Marauder’ album. This is Oblivion Throne firing on all cylinders and whilst we don’t get a lot here, basically three songs and an intro clocking in at 20 minutes, ‘Voidgazer’ is a hell of a lot of fun. This is old-school heavy metal with enough elements of thrash and first wave black metal to really push into the realms of epic metal. ‘Voidgazer’ is underground and its good, where tracks such as ‘Lust for Steel’ and the title track will have any fan of Omen and Manilla Road itching to hear more whilst the vocals of A.C. Savage have enough of an extreme gargle to really appeal to fans of early Bathory or Celtic Frost and there’s nothing wrong with that.

‘Marauder’ was a hell of a lot of fun and if ‘Voidgazer’ truly is a stop gap, something to tide us over until Oblivion Throne releases something else, then mission accomplished because this really is a good EP. Metal Digest

Short Bio: Mountain-dwelling speed metal marauders OBLIVION THRONE formed in the Winter of 2021 after discussing the desire to throw genre tags out the window, drawing influence from Saxon, to Candlemass, to Death, to Darkthrone.  This power trio already boasts a wealth of material, having played gigs with bands such as Nunslaughter, Night Demon, Ectovoid, The Black Moriah and plenty more. With the release of their new EP, ‘VOIDGAZER’, Oblivion Throne seeks to plant their flag in the ground and establish their sound, and set their sights for expansion.
