PANTERA’s Final Album Was Recorded in Hopes of Squashing Old Feud?

An industry source has tipped off TMD that late PANTERA founding members Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell Abbott had decided that when recording the last songs Dime cut that were meant for a second Damageplan album, the brothers talked it out and instead decided to use the tracks for a final Pantera studio release, knowing full well that there was no guarantee a full on reunion (including world tour) with estranged band mates Rex Brown and Phil Anselmo would have ever materialized. This means no more Damageplan and only Pantera full steam ahead. That was the Abbott brother’s mindset.

Dimebag’s longtime girlfriend Rita Haney says that Dimebag was not happy with Damageplan before he died, and voiced his distrust of singer Pat Lachman, who was initially against singing any Pantera songs at Damageplan gigs, believe it or not. Read the full article here at this link: The Metal Den
