Behind SOG from Atlanta, GA is none other than ex-RIGOR MORTIS, HALLOWS EVE guitarist Doyle Bright. With 'Man Demonic' he is now presenting his third album, which, to everyone's surprise, is once again being released by the German label Violent Creek Records. 'Man Demonic' is a nasty piece of Thrash Metal that stands in the tradition of RIGOR MORTIS. Fiddly, fast, hard tracks with that unmistakable vibe that only the Texans had back then. The numbers are really tasty and consistently convincing. None of the 13 tracks fall off. Uncompromisingly old-school and fast-paced, the songs whip you up. Doyle is also responsible for the vocals, which fit perfectly with the frenetic numbers and always bring back memories of the late RIGOR MORTIS singer Bruce Corbitt (RIP Brother). Thrash Metal how Thrash Metal should sound like. Not overloaded but still varied. Hard and evil, but not caustic. 'Man Demonic' delivers that easily and thus becomes a real surprise. If you are now wondering what the band name SOG means, the good Doyle probably stole it from the RIGOR MORTIS album 'Rigor Mortis Vs. The Earth', because there is a song with that name on it. Short Bio: SOG has managed to trace the whole evolution from speed to thrash to death metal with the gradual development of their raw, violent sound. All of this is encompassed in SOG’s third offering, “Man Demonic” (2023), the follow up to God Complex (2017). On a total of thirteen tracks, the axe is swung through the undergrowth with an onslaught of sonic euphoria. It's dirty, it's fast, there are genre typical lyrics, but also extremely critical tones on the record. If God Complex was a bit too rough for you, MAN DEMONIC will be a pleasure for you. The sound is clearer, you can hear all instruments nicely differentiated and Doyle Bright is vocally outstanding and fits like a glove. Furthermore, the very varied drumming of Dane Jensen is to be emphasized - he really beats up his kit in every song as if it owed him a chunk of money.
SOG - MAN DEMONIC is for the real old-school fans! No super polished production, just raw and aggressive carnage, with the charm of the 80s!
