If you like brutal death metal with pig noises this is one of those records. It’s great for some mindless headbanging and I imagine a mosh pit for this band is as intense as it gets. If you’re looking for anything more than that utility artistically then this album isn’t for you.

The drums are excellent and the vocals are intense. On first listen the grooves are nasty as well. The problem is dynamics. There isn’t much variety to the grooves nor are there any standout riffs to punctuate any particular moments. Gingivectomy gets into it and doesn’t stop nor do they throw any changeups. There are no guitar solos, and very rarely does the vocalist stop pig growling to scream or yell or anything to break up the monotony.

At one point during ‘Jaw Cracking Compound Fracture’ the guitars did something interesting and I was jolted out of my caveman metal trance. It didn’t last long though and the band was right back into their metronome like jackhammering. Two minutes before the album ends a synth plays. Where was this instrument before? There are of course pig grunts over the synth. This album is heavy and if that’s what you’re after then fire it up. Just be prepared to play something else after. Metal Digest

Full-length debut album of Gingivectomy, a band consisting of Blastocystia members and Larry Wang. With a blend of Grindcore, Slam and Slamming Deathcore, this results in a dynamic sound spectrum, reaching from typical Slam chugs to melodical intersections and technical breakdowns, thus calling their genre "Experimental Teethgrinding Slam" or "Slamming Teethcore". To sum it up, this album is appealing to anyone who is at least affiliated with those genres and provides an enjoyable experience.
