How did I meet the band: Again Metal Devastation Radio sent me some Black Metal and I rarely say no. So let's listen:

What do I think of the record: After a really cool intro, it starts straight away with nasty Black Metal. The production is a bit thin, but let's assume that's intentional and concentrate on the essentials: raging drums, simple but effective guitars and hoarse screeching. There's plenty of that here.

On the title track ADVERSARY OF GOD they threaten with acoustic tinkling, but fortunately it's only the intro of a strong song. They even throw in a few musical extravaganzas, but they fit well and sound organic.

DREAMS OF SHATTERED CROSSES sounds kind of old-school, although I can't quite make out where that impression is coming from. In any case, it's a really great, frantic song that definitely made it onto my list.

Conclusion: The album is definitely worth listening to. Friends of black metal should take a look here. As already written above, there is more material to listen to and maybe I'll take a look at it. Until then: fullmetalmayhem
