Death Has Spoken - Call Of The Abyss - Reviewed By Rocka Rolla ! check it out here at this link: https://rockarollazine.blogspot.com/2022/02/death-has-spoken-call-of-abyss-2021.html
"Call of the Abyss" is a 7-song piece that is a continuation of the story contained in "Fade" (his previous album of 2017), with the addition of the writer of the horror genre inspired by Lovecraft.
The song of the same name contains much of the style and melody it handles, slow, clean, melodic, dark and melancholic rhythms as such. In Lurking Fear we hear more dense, dark and melancholy chords, the same rhythm line, on guitars and drums so they are handled until the end.
Woe with slower, longer, denser and beautifully melancholic tempos, heartbreaking in themselves, while in Wilderness they give us a beautiful atmospheric instrumental song with totally heartbreaking and dark acoustics, and so on until the final part with Under the Flame, with a rhythm and melody as such, intense and devastating.
The band leaves us an album full of darkness, melancholy, sadness and nostalgia deeply with an intense style driven by Death metal and the long and slow tempos of Doom, but at the beginning of the album they have a melodic and a little faster part.
An album with the doom/death metal of the 90s and with an air or tint of Black metal. The lyrics are a great aspect given to their dark romanticism in a poetic, narrative and introspective format as they expose it and more by Lovecraft!

The musical project started in Poland at the beginning of 2017. Inspired by doom metal themes with influences of black and death metal. After recording their debut album „Fade”, DHS completed their line-up and became a full time band, starting to play live shows across the country. Lyrics on the album were loosely based on the novels by Edgar Allan Poe and posed a question: Is death an end or a beginning?
In 2020 band recorded a single called "Downfall" and released it together with two other doom metal bands as a split EP entitled "Unyielding". It was a preview of their upcoming music. After that the band focused on their second longplay, finished and recorded half way through 2021. The fruit of this work is 7 songs piece that is a continuation of the story contained in “Fade” with addition of H.P. Lovecraft inspired themes. “Call of the Abyss” is full of darkness, mystery, sadness and nostalgia deeply entrenched in doom/death metal of the early 90s and the second wave of black metal. It continues the journey started four years ago on the previous album.Straight to the unknown, right into calling abyss...
