India might not be the first place that springs to mind when asked to think of an example of a hotbed of heavy metal, but the country has shown that underneath its sub-tropical warm surface, there is a molten core of metal churning away. One such band are Kryptos who have once again blasted out of southern India to enrapture the trad metal world with their latest album ‘Force of Danger’.

Enraptured we most certainly are. Kryptos have once again come up with the goods, ‘Force of Danger’ hits the listener with all the power of the tropical typhoon as it lays waste to everything in its path. This is an album of classic sounding riffs, thunderous drums and snarling vocals with the listener feeling their skin turning to a combination of denim and leather with each guitar passage. It only takes a quick glance at the track names to know what Kryptos are all about and therefore tracks such as ‘Thunderchild’, ‘Dawnbreakers’ and ‘Raging Steel’ roar with all the power of Enforcer, Striker and Skull Fist. In fact, when it comes down to it, ‘Force of Danger’ is the album that Enforcer should have made instead of arsing about with ‘Zenith’ with its wanky synth stabs and any fan of that old sound should fill their boots with ‘Force of Danger’, it is the real deal.

‘Force of Danger’ is simply one of the best trad metal albums released this year, in fact, it’s got a damn good chance at being the best trad metal album released this year and any self-respecting fan of the genre should head out and pick it up. - Metal Digest
