Kryptos was formed in 1998 in Bangalore, India and has long been
considered one of the spearheads of the Indian Heavy Metal Revolution. With five critically acclaimed albums under their belt, they have supported some of metal's biggest names such as Iron Maiden, Testament, Kreator, Exodus and many more, earning a reputation as a gripping and gripping live act. The band released their debut album "Spiral Ascent" in 2004 and "The Ark of Gemini" in 2008 before leaving. on their first European tour in 2010, making them the first Indian heavy metal band to do so.
In 2021, Kryptos is ready to step on the accelerator thoroughly, as they once again bring their scorching brand. from the '80s heavy metal inspired the masses with the release of their long-awaited sixth album, "Force of Danger," followed by a second European tour later this year, as they continue to fly the flag during traditional metal into the future and beyond.
After this necessary introduction we find a band with extensive experience and that has been maturing its sound since the late twentieth century, hence it is not a minor band. What we find is a band that has a mark of identity with its sound that goes back without hesitation, to the beginnings of the style, the 80s, and it is undeniable that mythical bands such as Judas Priest, Manowar or RIOT come to mind, in fact the cut "Force Of Danger" has an interesting reminiscence to the Accept of the beginning of their career, especially the cut "Princess of the Dawn" for the way in which they face the cut and the sensations it transmits to us.
Comparisons aside, which there are always, the band offers us a casual album of pure heavy metal, in its most traditional aspect and they do it perfectly with powerful cuts and especially with riffs that stick to you the first, of those that when you listen to them you relames your lips. They are perhaps the riffs of a lifetime, but that they like so much and Kryptos perform it with an overwhelming superiority, hence the album practically "enters" alone, serve as an example "Shadowmancer", that if you have a cut of half times, has an innate force that carries its stamp throughout the album.
It is not exactly a fast or furious album, but it has its fast cuts, such as the initial "Raging Steel", "Thunderchild" or some of its jewels from the album "Force OF Danger" or my favorite "Omega Point", similar in sensations, which without being fast in unison, have a rhythmic and a very suggestive base, which seems to ride slowly, but with a lot of force and with a brutal riff, in both, that guides in the background. Simply spectacular. They are themes that transmit a lot, precisely because of that dynamic so original that they have achieved with parallel and consistent riffs. Cuts that perfectly reflect the essence of the band and its powerful sound.
An indispensable work, for lovers of the traditional, which deserves even so, an intuitive listening for the details that make it up, since despite what its style represents, it is a much more technical album and not only based on the speed of its members. It has a lot of consistency and there is the key to its success and the interesting thing to taste it with patience, like a good wine or whiskey, it should be taken slowly, to taste it on our palate. - RockInSpain
