Bluntface Records Winter Report 2017: New Signing

Ex-members of Diabolic Intent, Suffocation, Nocturnus to form NYDM/FLDM cross-over supergroup, sign to Bluntface Records

Chris Migdalski, founding guitarist of the innovative underground death metal outfit Diabolic Intent, has signed to Bluntface Records to head-up a 2018 release that will feature Ed Mowery (Tiwanaku, Pontifex, Markradonn, Taipan, Ex-Nocturnus) on Bass and the legendary Mike Smith on Drums (Ex-Suffocation; Pontifex, Voracious Scourge) with lead guitar duties handled by Haniel Adhar (Pontifex, Markradonn). A tentative release date is set for the second half of 2018, and will be Executive Produced by Haniel Adhar. The project is currently holding vocalist auditions, and Chris is looking to add another key piece to merge the NY and FL death metal sound of the new project.

A veteran of the Central Florida death metal scene since the mid-late 1990s, Chris Migdalski’s band Diabolic Intent has been a big part of the underground brutal death metal scene. With critically acclaimed releases such as Reborn and Bionomenclature, Diabolic Intent combined brutality and innovation to create one of the most recognizable sounds in the Central Florida underground over the past 20 years. The new project looks to combine Chris’s unique riffing with the bad-ass rhythm section of Ed and Mike, topped off with Haniel’s melodic shredding. Expect something new and fresh, but also retaining the Florida and NY death metal roots of each member.
