The Portuguese of MERCIC said goodbye to the fateful year of 2020, with the release of a brutal industrial remix for the track " Cold" , by the Brazilians from CHAOSFEAR !

This is the third remix created by the band led by multi-instrumentalist Carlos “Maldito” , and the first by a non-European band, released this year, knowing that the others went to the track “Cursed” , by the band from Old School Death Metal , Sacred Sin and "Shattered" , by the Death / Black Metal band, Congruity , both Portuguese.

"Cold" , an emblematic and well-praised track by world critics, is originally on CHAOSFEAR's most recent Modern Thrashers album , "Be The Light In Dark Days" , and has been totally rebuilt within the unique industrial sound, strongly influenced by Ministry and Front Line Assembly, which only MERCIC achieves with such originality, without losing any trace of the brutality and characteristic weight of Brazilians!

For 2021, MERCIC is preparing to participate in several other online festivals, including one that has already been defined and will be the Brazilian one, Metal no Vale , on February 22nd, and is already thinking about material for the successor to "MERCIC_6_2020" , launched in May 2020.

Created in 2015, in Grândola, Portugal, by multi-instrumentalist musician Carlos “Maldito”, MERCIC is an Industrial Rock project, whose goal is to release only studio albums without being attached to singles (only in the case of remixes from other bands) and video clips. Rarely does live shows, because the philosophy of the project is to make only music the main focus and speak for itself. The driving force of his music stands out from any use of edited images as today's society uses and abuses.

Carlos “Maldito”, in a sudden and not easy decision in his life, abandoned all the bands in which he was also a composer, to dedicate himself exclusively to MERCIC and, since then, has been launching a new work every year. This change did not happen right at the beginning of the journey with MERCIC , but before the release of his fifth record, “ MERCIC_5_2019 ″ , launched in 2019, in which he is considered by the musician as a new start in his life not only as a musician as well as a family man.

The MERCIC's sound is unique, easily walking between Indie, Alternative Rock / Metal, Gothic Rock and Industrial Rock / Metal, focused more on melody with modernist progressions and different atmospheres. His great and incredible differentials range from vocalizations, themes, climatic nuances, synthesized beats, keyboards, samplers and orchestrations full of melancholy, creating not only gloomy climates in his music, but also a range of diversity between styles almost unimaginable. If there is an innovative band that completely escapes stereotypes or conventional sounds, without being attached to labels, MERCIC is the main one.

“Be The Light In Dark Days” , CHAOSFEAR's latest album, was recorded / mixed at the studio Tori Studios owned by Marco Nunes (bassist / producer), mastered by renowned producer / musician Paulo Anhaia and with cover by artist Jean Santiago .

This work has 7 dense and melancholic tracks , alternating passages sometimes dark and rhythmic, sometimes fast and full of 'punch' with a robust and modern production, emphasizing the purest weight of contemporary Thrash Metal and personal techniques characteristic of the quartet's career . Muffled reeds, profuse riffs, aggressiveness and unparalleled brutality have risen to such an extent that the comfort zone within the band was no longer an option.
