Hitwood is the name of an old man that appears every night in the dreams of the composer of the band and guide him through a musical journey, give him the chance to hear ancient melodies forsaken by the humanity.

These melodies are all featured on the album "When Youngness… Flies Away…" that's essentially a musical compression by 10 years of dreams.

The project has started in 2007 in Italy and it's heavily influenced by the Melodic Death Metal scene and some post-rock/shoegaze stuff. Later, they released an experimental ep called “As a season bloom” followed by “Detriti” that signs a mark in the Hitwood career because the project turns into “collaborative” form with the help of talented guest vocalists.

They are currently working on the new ep “Marea”, anticipated by the singles “Apocalyptic omen” and “ The scene you could see”, the ep will be released in the first half of 2018. Suggested to all fans of In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Paradise Lost, Insomnium, Arch Enemy, Agalloch and Alcest.
