Addressing Political Concerns Regarding Blog Posts On MDR

Rules & Regulations

lmaoyeah i know Craig, feathers get ruffled no matter what though some people are just easily offended at some things. I personally find that funny that people get soo offended over what the artists say they get offended at gene simmons for wanting to make money on hand gestures, they get offended at ted nugents conservative views and they get offended at randy blythes liberal views. but it makes them talk and share and comment and that is what its all about at the end of the day why blabbermouth, metal sucks, metal injection all of them do the same thing in one way or another its all about trying to find that viral thread that button that is gonna push people to share and comment, all opinions are always welcome with me i follow no path 100% independent

Addressing Political Concerns Regarding Blog Posts On MDR

Rules & Regulations

Exactly why its ALWAYS music related, many musicians voice there opinions on politics and many things and it sure does ruffle some feathers which is great for traffic and discussions. Not gonna name names or say this was pointed at anyone in particular just making sure everyone understands and is clear. And the beautiful thing about this site is that it is 100% member driven, one page here is for radio and everything else is what the members make it similar to facebook or any other social platform everyone has a voice and a page to make whatever they want with it, so long as its not hateful or illegal but that kinda goes without saying. Comments and Discussions is what this website thrives on and ultimately what keeps us in the heavy traffic zone of the internet which is exactly where our radio station needs to be. \,,/

Addressing Political Concerns Regarding Blog Posts On MDR

Rules & Regulations

Attention Staff:
It has come to our attention that some of you have issue with a recent blog post that involved a musician’s opinion on health care. Some have suggested that our website needs to steer clear of all politics. In response to that, we have this to say:The blog function of the site is open to all staff and members to post anything that they feel the need to post. The blog is responsible for our recent large influx of visitors and new memberships that have occurred in the last couple of months, and those new members and site visits benefit all of us. As far as the content of the blogs, we do not post any blogs unless they are somehow related to music, which sticks to what our station is all about. If a musician/artist states a particular political stance and makes a public statement about it that is also being blogged by other big music websites, we see no harm in blogging it as well. That does not mean that we support or agree with the statements made by the artist. It also does not mean that we disagree. It is simply a blog post meant to drive traffic to our website and encourage membership. We have been trying to encourage ALL staff members to post public blogs and promote them because blog posts are a great tool to drive traffic to the site. If you all choose not to do so and leave all blog posting up to just a couple of people, then there really is no room for you to complain about the blog posts that ARE being made.Lastly, as owners of MDR, we reserve the right to post about whatever we want to post, political or otherwise, without having to be scolded and attacked by those who disagree. These are blog posts…not official MDR statements or views supported by the entire station and staff. We are entitled to our own views and should not have to censor those. We respect all political views and have never asked that any of our staff members change their views or to accept our views. We do not demand that any of our staff members censor themselves, and we ask for the same respect in return. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
Zach and Marietta
