The process of extraction and recovery of copper from its slag involves three stages. During the
first stage, the slag is fed to the flotation process. This process results in a rougher concentrate
containing about 10,33 % copper. This rougher concentrate is then processed to extract the
valuable metal. This process is repeated until the desired concentration is achieved. During the
third stage, the recoveries are higher, but there is still a certain risk of the slag contaminating
water.
