A Personal and Musical Bond From the very first moments of the interview, Adler sets the tone with a heartfelt admission: Lamb of God wasn’t just a band to him—it was family, identity, and purpose. He recalls the deep bond he formed with his bandmates and the personal investment he poured into the group’s success. The separation, he explains, was more than professional—it was emotionally devastating. The Hidden Enemy: Musician's Dystonia One of the most striking revelations from the interview is Adler’s battle with musician's dystonia, a neurological condition that disrupts motor control, particularly affecting musicians who rely on intricate, repetitive movements. Adler describes how the condition began to impair his drumming—a terrifying reality for someone whose career revolved around his hands and feet. At 2:14, he delves into how the dystonia made it nearly impossible to perform at the level he demanded of himself, leading to intense frustration and self-doubt. Recording sessions became grueling, and live performances even more so. Despite efforts to push through, it became clear the condition was taking a serious toll.
