Ophiolatry has officially signed with legendary Combat Records, marking a powerful new chapter for the Canadian/Brazilian brutal death metal unit following the release of their acclaimed return album Serpent’s Verdict. Forged in the Brazilian extreme metal underground in 1998, Ophiolatry has spent nearly three decades delivering uncompromising brutality, technical precision, and relentless intensity. From early releases like Opposite Monarchy to Anti-Evangelistic Process and Transmutation, the band has carved a respected place in global death metal history. Now joining the reborn Combat Records roster, Ophiolatry stands alongside one of the most influential names in heavy music, originally responsible for launching and shaping legends like Megadeth, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, and Helstar during the 1980s thrash explosion. With Combat now relaunched in 2026, the label continues its mission of supporting uncompromising extreme metal worldwide. Their latest album Serpent’s Verdict, released via Wormhole Death Records, showcases thirteen tracks of refined aggression, mastered by Dan Swanö (Opeth, Dissection, Dark Funeral).
