Antonin Dvorak composed the famous “New World Symphony”, his Symphony No. 9 in E minor "From the New World" (Op. 95, B. 178) in 1893. Dvorak was in North America working as director of National Conservatory of Music of America. He heard various forms of music, including spirituals which greatly influenced Dvorak.
