When times are tough, you are not alone - During the lockdown, Side Project have been working on several songs for their upcoming debut album 'Bittersweet' which will be released on Engineer Records this summer. This first single, entitled ‘It’s Not A Title, It’s A Label’, started out in Alex’s (drummer) home rehearsal space prior to the pandemic and really kicked on once the band started writing from home. The song follows vocalist Ben’s desire to write lyrics from the perspective of a fictional character, the idea is that each song can resonate with the listener and create a feeling of ‘when times are tough, you are not alone’. The music behind the song saw the band take influences from faster paced pop punk bands and deliver a song that was energetic and chaotic in places whilst still keeping the anthemic sing-a-long style choruses that Side Project are fast becoming known for.
