St. Petersburg, Russia — October 2025 — Russia’s long-running death metal war machine Monastery Dead returns with their latest slab of sonic devastation, Seeds of Apostasy , dropping November 10th, 2025 . Brutal, unrelenting, and unapologetically pure, this record marks the band’s fifth full-length in over two decades of unwavering dedication to extreme metal.

Formed in 2004 , Monastery Dead has built a reputation as one of Russia’s most vicious death metal exports, consistently delivering an uncompromising sound that fuses traditional death metal ferocity with modern technical precision. Their arsenal already includes four full-length albums, several singles, and a string of punishing videos. Live, the band has leveled stages alongside Dying Fetus, Unleashed, Benighted, Impaled Nazarene, and Haemorrhage , earning their place among the elite of the underground.

Seeds of Apostasy stands as a monolithic testament to the band’s craft—a relentless conceptual journey through existential crisis, religious decay, and ultimate desecration . Recorded throughout 2024–2025 at BuzzyLick Studio in St. Petersburg with Ivan Dmitriev , and mixed and mastered by Dead Kennedy , the album captures the raw, bone-grinding energy the band is known for. The striking cover art was created by Ivan Stan , visually echoing the themes of decay and disillusionment that run through the record.
