Yungblud and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler & Joe Perry Lead Powerful Ozzy Osbourne Tribute at MTV VMAs With “Crazy Train,” “Changes” and “Mama I’m Coming Home”

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards transformed into a celebration of heavy metal history as Yungblud, joined by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt, delivered a show-stopping tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne.

The all-star set featured “Crazy Train,” “Changes,” and a moving finale of “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”

Jack Osbourne Opens the Tribute With Heartfelt Message

Before the live music began, fans were treated to a montage of Osbourne’s legendary career, followed by a video message from his son, Jack Osbourne.

“I know for sure it would make him incredibly happy to see these great musicians carry on his legacy and help inspire the next generation of rockers,” Jack said. “I’d like to give a special shout out to Dom [Yungblud], Nuno, Steve and Joe from Aerosmith. We love you, Dad.”

Yungblud & Nuno Bettencourt Ignite the Stage

The tribute’s live portion began with Yungblud channeling pure Ozzy energy as he tore into “Crazy Train,” backed by Bettencourt’s ripping guitar work. The two then shifted gears into an emotional version of Black Sabbath’s “Changes,” showcasing Osbourne’s softer, more vulnerable side.

Aerosmith Join for the Grand Finale

The energy peaked when Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith stormed the stage for the finale. Backed by Bettencourt on acoustic guitar, the group performed an emotional rendition of “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” Tyler’s unmistakable voice soared alongside Yungblud’s heartfelt delivery, while Perry’s guitar lines tied it all together in a fitting tribute to the Prince of Darkness.

Ozzy’s Final Chapter

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, following years of health struggles, including Parkinson’s disease. Just weeks before his passing, he had performed both solo and with the original lineup of Black Sabbath at the Back to the Beginning concert, proving his dedication to music until the very end.

The MTV VMAs tribute captured the spirit of Ozzy’s music — rebellious, emotional, and timeless. With Yungblud leading the charge and Aerosmith closing the night, it was more than a performance; it was a passing of the torch to a new generation while honoring a legend who will never be forgotten.
