This track is the first advance single taken from their forthcoming new full-length "Feed the Vault". The Germans' second album has been scheduled for release on January 15, 2027. CARNAL GHOUL comment: "The track 'Back to Decay' revolves around the pretty shitty notion of experiencing your own death time and again", vocalist Lenny Osterhus writes on behalf of the band. "Eventually, everything blurs in your head – memory, nightmare, and reality. Yet whatever you do, there seems to be no easy way out of this dreadful cycle." BACK TO DECAY Fever burns behind my eyes. Every whispered memory dies. Loved ones perish in my dreams. Nothing's ever what it seems. Warm beneath my trembling hand. Thick enough to barely stand. Iron poisons every breath. Something sleeps that smells like death. Bring me back. Back to decay. Back to the flesh. Where memories stay. Drag me down. Into decay. Back to the flesh. Where nightmares stay. Mirror glass reflects a ghost. Hollow eyes I fear the most. Ash-grey skin. A stranger's stare. Someone else is waiting there. Curtain slides with brittle sound. Death is folded on the ground. Ribcage split from throat to spine. One dead face... resembling mine. Bring me back. Back to decay. Back to the flesh. Where memories stay. Drag me down. Into decay. Back to the flesh. Where nightmares stay. Who's that face? Why won't it... Look away? Am I dreaming? Am I dead?
