Although the Linksys WiFi app contains an Auto-Update option for the firmware that does not require your involvement. However, if you want to execute the same process manually then you need to visit the web interface. To do that, access the Linksys Range Extender setup page and choose the Administration option. Then, click on the Firmware Update option and see the latest version of your extender. Choose the official version and download it on your networked PC. Now, you need to access the portal again to carry out the process. After that, upload the file to the prompted option and click on the Firmware Update option again. Wait for a few minutes or till the process is complete on the portal. Once the firmware is upgraded, reboot the extender and connect it again. Thus, you will be done with the process manually.
