Rocio Ruvalcaba is a young metalhead living in Tijuana, Mexico, and for her, as it is for many fans, metal isn't just a style of music, it's a passion and a community that helps sustain her through tough times. For the debut episode of our series "Metal Saves" — which profiles fans and their deep connection to their favorite bands — we joined her in her hometown, where she shared her story of fighting off muggers so she had money for an upcoming show, and brought her together with Mexican metal heroes Brujería when they came through.
