Founded in 2015 by guitarist and songwriter Matt Bidart, Lokust is a collaborative modern metal project that brings together musicians from across the globe. Rather than operating as a traditional fixed lineup, Lokust serves as a creative platform where artists from different countries and backgrounds unite to create hard-hitting, modern metal.

Over the past decade, the project has featured performers, producers, and engineers from the United States, Italy, Brazil, and beyond, while also working with notable contributors from bands and projects such as Lions at the Gate, Immortal Guardian, Graham Bonnet Band, and others. This international approach has helped shape Lokust’s distinctive sound — blending crushing riffs, memorable hooks, aggressive groove, and polished modern production.

The latest Lokust release, Pair of Lies, continues that global collaboration, featuring vocal performances from two singers based in Italy and production work from Sardinian engineer and producer Alby Bandino of Cut Fire Mixing Studios. The EP highlights the project’s commitment to bringing together talent from around the world to create powerful, uncompromising metal.

Ten years after its inception, Lokust remains an evolving creative outlet for Matt Bidart, driven by collaboration, passion, and a shared love of heavy music that transcends borders.
