The XP Tower Strategy revolves around creating map clusters influenced by special Tablet modifiers that boost experience gain. By stacking these effects with increased monster pack density, you can multiply experience gain per map and power-level your second character faster than ever before.
This strategy requires a decently geared main character and moderate currency investment - around a few Exalted Orbs' worth of setup. However, once established, it is far more cost-efficient than paying for private carriers or Untainted Paradise runs.
Note: This strategy isn't recommended for your first character of the league, since it requires strong gear to get started.
Tablets: The Core of XP Towers
The backbone of this leveling method lies in Breach Tablets and Irradiated Precursor Tablets. Each XP Tower requires three Tablets, and your modifier priority should follow this order:
1. Mandatory Modifier
5-10% increased Experience Gain in your Maps.
2. Bonus Modifiers
Chance for your Maps with a Breach to spawn additional Breaches.
Increased number of Rare or Magic monsters.
Extra monsters from Strongboxes, Shrines, or Abyss encounters.
Irradiated Tablets increase Area Level by +1, making monsters harder but yielding more XP. Breach Tablets spawn enormous clusters of enemies, perfect for AoE-clearing builds.
By combining both types and strategically placing them in XP Towers, players can stack multiple overlapping experience boosts. Well-placed setups can reach 30-60% increased experience gain, especially when multiple Tower effects overlap.
Tower Placement and Configuration
Optimal Tower placement determines how effective your XP farming will be. The goal is to overlap two Towers to double the area of influence, multiplying the total XP yield.
Setup Checklist:
Use a 6-mod Rare Map to unlock all three Tablet slots.
Insert Irradiated and Breach Tablets into the Tower to influence adjacent maps.
Overlapping two Towers can compound experience gain and spawn density significantly.
Bonus Tip: Clearing corruption zones near your Towers can trigger additional monster packs and buy Path of Exile 2 Currency modifiers, further increasing XP per hour.
