I would stay up as late as I could on weekend nights to catch creature feature and late night horror movies. Many of these movies were b-rated movies that flew under much of the major motion picture horror movie radar. For a very long time, I wanted to create dark dance music and combine those horrific eerie nightmare visions which haunted me through childhood. I set to create this music in a minimalist style with analogue synth bass lines, vintage organ and eerie keyboard patches, drum programming with 808 and 909 patches, horror sounds and dialogue mixed with whispery vocals that sounded like someone being very close to your ear, like an inner narrative. Although there are many influences musically here, this is the basic theme behind hororhaus; to create electronic horror that sounds stuck in a timewarp of sorts. this has become a dream come true for me and is extremely close to my heart.
