Metal Punk Titans Return with a Fiery New Release

Prepare yourself for a sonic onslaught as Chesty Malone and the Slice 'em Ups return with their latest EP, "Hell Is Full And We Need The Room," released on August 2, 2024, through Cleopatra Records. This four-song EP captures the raw energy and unbridled aggression that fans of Misfits, Motörhead, Plasmatics, and Venom have come to expect from the band, but with a fresh twist that’s sure to leave listeners craving more.

Produced and recorded by John Bechdel from Ministry, and mastered by Jason LaFarge at Seizures Palace in Brooklyn, "Hell Is Full And We Need The Room" showcases the band at their most ferocious. From Motörhead-meets-Killing-Joke style stompers to early Metallica-inspired thrashers infused with NYHC intensity, this EP covers all things Chesty Malone. One track even features a classical horror mosh part that has to be heard to be believed.

The EP also marks the return of the band’s classic "Torture Rock" LP lineup, with Jaqueline Blownaparte on vocals, Anthony Allen Van Hoek on guitar, Üruk Brutal on bass, and Angel Cotte (Demolition Hammer) on drums. This legendary lineup, last seen together on the "Torture Rock" album in 2011, delivers a performance that’s as brutal as it is thrilling.

“This might be our greatest dive into the very depths of hell! We came, we saw, we brought back the evil from below and pummeled it into an onslaught of audio perversion! And there’s no more room!” says vocalist Jaqueline Blownaparte.

Guitarist Anthony Allen Van Hoek adds, “We had a blast working with JB (John Bechdel)! It was also awesome recording with Angel and Üruk again, even though we’re spread all over the place these days. I also enjoy that one of our most complicated arrangements (‘Chesty Malone Rules, Poseurs Fuck Off!’) is graced with one of our most lowbrow and hilarious titles. I love a good paradox.”

All artwork for the EP was created by the band’s longtime artist, Anthony Allen Begnal.

Critics have praised Chesty Malone and the Slice 'em Ups as “a vile concoction of The Misfits, Black Flag, and Cramps mixed with the likes of Venom, Black Sabbath, DRI, and Carnivore...wickedly mean yet amazingly enjoyable” (metalbite.com).
