Description
Muhammad Huzaifa, a 10-year-old boy from Ama Khel, KPK, had spent his entire childhood struggling with shortness of breath and chest discomfort. While other children of his age ran, laughed, and played without worry, Huzaifa’s life had been different.
Deeply concerned, Huzaifa’s parents received medical help and took him to a hospital for a detailed evaluation. After conducting various diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with a combination of serious heart defects: Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (LVOTO), and Right Coronary Cusp (RCC) Prolapse. These conditions severely impact the heart’s ability to circulate blood efficiently. The doctor advised open-heart surgery for VSD Closure as the only solution to save his life and improve his health. However, the cost of such a procedure was far beyond what his family could afford.
Huzaifa lives in a modest rented home with his parents and four siblings. His father, a devoted Imam, earns only PKR 10,000 per month. This limited income is barely enough to meet the basic needs of a family of seven. They struggle to pay rent, manage utility bills, and put food on the table. Affording a life-saving heart surgery for their son was simply out of the question. During this time of despair, Huzaifa’s family turned to Transparent Hands for help.
With the generous support of donors and Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation (PCHF), Huzaifa’s surgery was made possible.
Huzaifa was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore, on April 30, 2025. The next day, Dr. Asim Khan successfully performed the VSD closure surgery. After several days of care, Huzaifa was discharged in stable condition on May 5, 2025.
His parents said:
“Watching our son struggle every day broke our hearts. We couldn’t afford his surgery, but your support changed everything. We are deeply thankful to all the donors who helped us during our darkest time and gave our child a second chance.”
Today, Huzaifa is recovering well and can now look forward to a healthier and active life. His family is thankful for your kindness and generosity that changed Huzaifa’s life.
