Description
#RealtyNXTReel | Once a lively coastal town in Tamil Nadu, Dhanushkodi had homes, schools, a railway station and bustling markets. Everything changed on the night of 22–23 December 1964, when a devastating cyclone struck the town, destroying almost everything in its path. The scale of destruction was so severe that the government declared Dhanushkodi unfit for human habitation.
Today, the town stands as a haunting reminder of that disaster, with abandoned buildings, broken walls and endless stretches of sand. At the road’s end, the Bay of Bengal meets the Gulf of Mannar, marking a place where an entire town once thrived.
