Description
A 10ft-wide, 15ft-deep crater opened around 3pm Tuesday on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway service road near IFFCO Chowk after a GMDA sewer line was damaged. Authorities barricaded the stretch and deferred repairs to Wednesday due to rain. Alternate routes are available.
Gurugram’s rain also caused severe waterlogging, stranded school buses and two trucks, and disrupted key areas. Earlier, 82mm rain in July triggered an NH-48 cave-in, causing 8-10km traffic jams, while Sohna Highway saw its sixth sinkhole since 2023.
