Pratapsingh Nathani, CMD of Beacon Trusteeship, says he hates the term work life balance. His view is simple: you can't build a great career without working hard, and for the first five to seven years, don't even look at your work hours. Later, he says, you can relax. He explains that real estate debentures and bonds have been giving returns between 15 and 24 percent. He calls gold a long standing hedge, especially valued by Indian families in tough times, and says that stocks have given the best returns worldwide, adding he would personally choose stocks for the long term.
