Professor of Rock

What a story. Coming up next, the Worst album cover of all time that probably kept this band out of #1. Today we have principals John Hall and Lance Hoppen from the 70s band Orleans. These guys lit up radio for a couple of years with 3 big hits, including 2 that are still played all the time. But then the group up and vanished… John Hall retired from being a rockstar and became a Senator. Today’s classic 70s hit “Still the One” was actually written by a band member’s wife while she was doing the laundry. One story claims she wrote it on an envelope and one says it was a napkin, but the band recorded it in about 15 minutes. It became a top 5 smash and conquered pop culture and was released on a record that had one of the WORST album covers of the time. They also tell the story behind the 70s classic Dance With Me. The interview is next on Professor of Rock. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Executive Producer Brandon Fugal Honorary Producers Jude, Jase Bosarge, Chad Sites, Tim Muñoz, John Shoemaker ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to the Professor of Rock Podcast Apple: https://apple.co/445fVov Spotify: https://spoti.fi/42JpfvU Amazon: https://amzn.to/44b5D6m iHeartRadio: https://bit.ly/444h8MO ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Patreon: http://bit.ly/ProfessorofRockVIPFan Merch Store: https://professor-of-rock-lsn-shop.fourthwall.com/ Instagram: https://bit.ly/Instagram_Professor_of_Rock #classicrock #70smusic #vinylstory #70srock
