Description
Hey Music Junkies, The Professor of Rock here with your latest POP FIX. Have you ever wondered why a song that was popular before you were even born is now on replay in your head? For those of us who were around when songs like Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" (1981) or Player's "Baby Come Back" (1977) were released, it makes more sense that we would retain every note and lyric, but why are later generations just as apt to be singing along to these songs today? Tune in to this episode of Pop Fix, to get the Professor of Rock's take on this phenomenon, including findings by a team of NYU researchers who jumped into the conversation when they evaluated millennials' recognition and retention of songs from the 1960s through the 1990s versus those from 2000 to 2015. If you agree or disagree, let us know in the comments and let us know your favorite timeless hits! Article: NYU:
