Astigmatism is a condition in which the front surface of your eye, the cornea, is not curved evenly. Symptoms include blurred or distorted vision.
- Blurred or distorted vision at all distances
- eyestrain or headaches after reading or doing other close work
- difficulty seeing at night
- squinting to try to improve vision.
If you experience any of these symptoms, you should see an ophthalmologist for an evaluation. Astigmatism is usually diagnosed during a comprehensive eye exam. Once astigmatism is diagnosed, it can be treated with corrective lenses or surgery.
