Sometimes the biggest improvements in your mixes don’t come from a new plugin but from changing how you approach the mix. After 10 years of teaching mixing and production, mix engineer Sam Loose breaks down the 10 most common mixing mistakes he heard from students, and how to fix them.
He covers mix hierarchy, EQ, compression, gain staging, reference tracks, depth, prepping for mastering, and building energy across your arrangement. Along the way, he shows how Neutron 5, Nectar, RX, and Ozone can help you fix these problems faster.
