Some escort services are illegal. The state's Attorney General's State wide Organized Crime Task Force recently conducted an investigation into escort services in New York. Some of these services posed as legitimate but were actually a front for a massive prostitution business. They offered sexual favors in exchange for extra fees. When customers thought they were meeting an undercover police officer or a prostitute, they were arrested.
