sounds like you have messed with your settings like eq and effects, you should leave those at default, only use them on the mic signal not the music

Creating effective FB events 101!

Staff Support

Creating effective events 101!

Step 1 Create Event on facebook at least 1 week in advance!

Step 2 When creating event if its just your show without an interview just use show title with something added to make it interesting, if its an interview make sure to add bands names to the title!

Step 3 use a good image that is going to show up nice in timelines with all words and letters showing in the crop version you see in timelines (cover photos are horrible for this!) 1200x680 i think is the round about size FB crops images to show in timelines so if your image is within this range it will show up nice in timelines and be more interesting to viewers!

Step 4 Make sure to be detailed in your description area what the show will feature, what it is about, what do you expect from your listeners? Tell them to join you in chat if you play requests, tell them here in the description dont leave anything out! And use spell check and fix typos!

Step 5 Hosts- scroll down below the description area you will find an empty box for hosts! This is where you put Metal Devastation Radio so our page will feature your event on its timeline and get thousands of views. Also add your pages and any profiles you have add other djs that you think might help you to this area (not guaranteed they will see it but its worth a shot) If you are interviewing a band make sure to add there page and any other page affiliated with them as hosts, yes this means record labels, management, PR, and anyone else you think that would want to help! THIS IS CRUCIAL!

Step 6 Share and invite! If you invite on a PC you will usually be limited to 50 invites but if you try using a smart phone to send them out you will be able to get much more! And invite people you know will probably be interested, dont waste it on people that never support you. After you have done this encourage any of the other hosts that have engaged in the event to do the same!

Step 7 Don't be afraid to make posts throughout the week inside the event, this will create excitement and get people to share it more and it will show up in more timelines increasing the amount of people interested! things like music videos of some of the bands you plan to play or news about the bands. You can even create polls for people to pick out requests if you want all inside the event and all this interaction will make it have a larger presence on FB thus getting around the algorithms!

Step 8 When showtime starts be sure to post inside the event you are going live! Remind them this will make them all get notified about the show and if they are online and really interested they will attend! Tell them to get in chat and join you, take charge! You can also try what i do by taking snippets or screenshots of the MDR home page showing the player and chat room and tag the bands that are playing, add the MDR link to the post this will get peoples attention i have been doing this ever since we updated the home page with the player showing album images large and it seems to work great! tag the people in chat and the bands playing and it can make your traffic snowball!

Step 9 After the event take a few minutes to make a thank you post and thank the people that supported and tell them you will see them next week. Its common decency and will help trust me!
