Description
Can an ultrasonic flow meter operate reliably in 150°C (302°F) flue gas?
In this video, we demonstrate a practical installation solution used in industrial flue gas applications. By installing a backflush blower between the mounting flange and the ultrasonic flow meter probe, the system continuously supplies cooling air while preventing dust buildup. Together with the thermal isolation provided by the flange, the probe temperature drops dramatically—from too hot to touch to safe for hand contact during operation.
Ultrasonic flow meters are widely used for CEMS, power plants, cement plants, steel mills, waste incineration, and other industrial processes where accurate flue gas flow monitoring is critical. Proper cooling and air purging help maintain measurement stability and extend sensor life in high-temperature, dusty environments.
