Castle Rat brought their world of doom, fantasy and theatrical heavy metal to Bloodstock Open Air 2026, taking over the Ronnie James Dio Stage at Catton Park during the festival’s 25th Anniversary weekend.
⚔️ Watch CASTLE RAT perform SERPENT live at BLOODSTOCK 2026, captured during their Main Stage set on Sunday 9 August.
Led by Riley Pinkerton as The Rat Queen, Castle Rat have developed a style and stage show that is unmistakably their own. Heavy, doom-soaked riffs sit alongside medieval fantasy, storytelling, elaborate costumes and a live performance that turns a Castle Rat show into much more than just four musicians on a stage.
Joining The Rat Queen are The Count, Franco Vittore on lead guitar, The Plague Doctor, Charley Ruddell on bass and The Druid, Joshua Strmic on drums.
🐍 SERPENT is taken from Castle Rat’s debut album Into the Realm, released in 2024. The track showcases the heavier side of the band’s sound, combining crushing riffs with the atmosphere and fantasy world that have become central to Castle Rat.
At Bloodstock, that world came to life on the Ronnie James Dio Stage in front of thousands of metal fans.
Turn it up and enter the realm.
