HOLDING ABSENCE // SCORCHED EARTH // OUT NOW New Album 'Modern Life Is Lonely' Out Now: sumerian.lnk.to/mlil -- SCORCHED EARTH // LYRICS Born into the tragedy Not sure what’s wrong with me How could you love me With so much underneath? Not one for the sympathy. Wrap up the elegies. It’s fine. Turned down all the therapy. I’m scared of what they’ll find. You’re better than the scars They traced around your heart You picked out all the staples, and the stitches fell apart You said you’re damaged goods A shadow where you stood But I won’t stop at anything ‘till You see yourself How I see you. When you’re heavening above me The pedestal, it crumbles again Every angel falls in the end Trauma got a hold of me Fucked my brain chemistry. I'm fine. Turned down all the therapy. I’m scared of what they’ll find You’re better than the scars They traced around your heart You picked out all the staples, and the stitches fell apart You said you’re damaged goods A shadow where you stood But I won’t stop at anything ‘till You see yourself How I see you. When you’re heavening above me The pedestal, it crumbles again Every angel falls in the end You said you’re scorched earth Bitter to the end A brutalist nihilist with a skin to shed The roots are burnt so you’ll never get better But the grass is always greener when you give up on yourself -- FOLLOW HOLDING ABSENCE: https://www.tiktok.com/@holdingabsence https://www.instagram.com/holdingabsence https://x.com/HoldingAbsence https://www.facebook.com/Holdingabsence/ FOLLOW SUMERIAN RECORDS: http://tiktok.com/@SumerianRecords http://instagram.com/sumerianrecords http://facebook.com/SumerianRecords http://twitter.com/SumerianRecords http://sumerianrecords.com #holdingabsence #scorchedearth #sumerianrecords
