Rosmerta (Clare Butterfield-Elsey) is a Welsh Mezzo-Soprano singer and songwriter.
Her work includes Celtic influences and mythology with medieval flavours and on some occasions Middle Eastern harmonies.
From rich Lows, to Soaring highs Rosmerta's vocal instrument is strong, powerful, and as moving as it is versatile.
Her vocal trademarks include, breathy soft tones in the higher register,a quality that has been likened to Enya, Loreena Mckennit and other New Age singers, combined with a crisp, powerful belt voice. In addition to this her operatic-like qualities shine through in rich, darker timbres in the lowest section of her voice with a Contralto-esque elegance. This element has a solemn and mournful quality that has been used in soundtracks for several low budget foreign films over the last year.
Her unique and soulful instrument will carry you off to ancient lands, dark tales, and daring quests!
