Glenn Danzig does not like photographers at his shows, whether they are professional or amateur. He once put a TMZ photographer in a headlock, had security allegedly leave a fan bloodied for taking a photo, oh and there was that time he tried to chase down a photographer in the middle of his set. Well, Danzig is making sure NOBODY takes any photos during the Misfits' upcoming two reunion shows.
Fans who got tickets to either the Los Angeles or Las Vegas show later this month got an email yesterday alerting them that when they enter the venue they will be required by law to put their cell phones in a special case provided by Yondr, which will be locked for the duration of the show. The show is being advertised as "completely phone free." If an attendee needs to use there phone, there will be special unlocking stations where attendees can use their phones if needbe. Additionally, the message states that fans will have to phsyically print out tickets and will not be able to have the tickets scanned off their phone, presumably because it would already have been locked. Here's the full message sent to less-than-thrilled Misfits fans:
We’re writing to inform you about the updated cellphone policy at the Original Misfits Reunion Show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
There will be no use of cellphones, smart watches, cameras or recording devices permitted during the show. This exclusive one-off performance will be completely phone-free. Tickets MUST be pre-printed prior to arriving at the venue. Guests who do not have printed E-Tickets will not be permitted into the venue. Additional re-print fees will apply at the Box Office.
Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and smart watches will be secured in Yondr cases that will be unlocked at the end of the show. You’ll maintain possession of your phone throughout the event, and if needed, can access your phone at designated Yondr unlocking stations in the lobby. Your phone will be re-locked in a Yondr case before you re-enter the performance.
Anyone caught using a cellphone during the performance will be removed from the venue. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience.
Here is a guide explaining the "experience":
If fans are caught using their phones during the show, they will be ejected by security, or worse…Danzig himself! Yonder has been providing these pouches for other shows, namely Dave Chappelle's comedy shows, as he too has a strict no phones, no video policy.
